Coming off his first Sectional title in 2007, Mike Ahearn continues to shine in the offseason.  Wrestling for the Hudson Valley team, Mike captured the Silver medal at 123 lbs in scholastic freestyle wrestling at the 2007 Empire State Games held at Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx.

Ahearn was undefeated in pool competition before dropping his gold medal match to Team Western's Brian Guilfoyle.  Even with the disappointing loss, he became the highest placing scholastic wrestler in freestyle from Section 1. And that’s why Mike Ahearn was crowned Superman of the Month.  So…
